📨 Weekly digest: 39 2025 | The trust imperative

Hello, legends, and welcome to the weekly digest for week 39 of 2025.

Given that user willingness to grant AI access to sensitive domains is directly correlated with trust, and recognizing that AI safety and transparent governance are foundational to building this trust:

“What specific, measurable investments will our organization make over the next 18 months to not only demonstrate but also verifiably ensure our commitment to responsible AI, thereby securing our most valuable asset—customer relationships—against competitors who prioritize short-term gains over long-term trust?”

Read the intro of this new series: Trust, agency, and governance in the AI era

AI trust is the new competitive advantage. Instead of focusing on general-purpose AI, companies should build specialized, "trust-rich" applications in sensitive domains like health and education. We all need to acknowledge that public commitment to AI safety, ethics, and open governance is not just a moral obligation but a business-critical requirement for building this trust and a definitive market differentiator.

The bottom line is that the future belongs to companies that are trusted by AI users, not just those who possess the technology.
